Technology
Modern dentistry is continually creating ways to make your visits faster, easier, more relaxing, and better for the environment. These latest advances allow for earlier, less-invasive treatment, which leads to faster healing times and better precision for dental procedures. And the results can be quite impressive.
75% Less Radiation Than Older X-rays
Introducing digital X-rays, available at our dental practice. Using this technology, an image is taken of your mouth using a digital sensor and downloaded into our computer system, where it is immediately available for review. This machine results in 75% less radiation than previous conventional X-rays. You no longer have to wait for images to develop and there are no more chemical wastes that could pollute the environment.
Isolite™ – Making Your Visit More Comfortable
We are excited to offer an incredible new technology that makes your dental care much more enjoyable. It’s called Isolite. It’s a suction device and a bright light that illuminates your mouth and eliminates the shadows. What does this mean for our patients?
- Patients spend about 30 percent less time during their visits.
- Patients don’t get a “drowning” or “gagging” feeling because there is no saliva buildup.
- Debris isn’t swallowed because the mouth is continuously being “vacuumed.”
- The mouth no longer gets tired because it’s being held open for long periods of time.
- The advanced illumination helps the team improve accuracy during treatment.
Dentistry requires a dry mouth to achieve the best results. The Isolite keeps the teeth and gums free of extra saliva and can even eliminate the need for a bulky rubber dam.
Intra-Oral Camera Allows You to See What We See
Dr. Agrawal works closely with patients to build a bond of teamwork. One of the ways our team brings this about is by using a high-tech tool called the intra-oral camera. This amazing device is a tiny video camera that displays a closeup image of the inside of your mouth. You are able to view what work needs to be completed and which teeth are doing well. You then become part of each dental decision. You’ll really appreciate how this works!
Three-Dimensional Dentistry!
We are proud to be one of the first practices locally to employ 3-D cone beam CT digital imaging technology. This is a three-dimensional X-ray that is much more accurate than older film X-rays, takes much less time to produce, and does all this with much less radiation.
One big advantage of using ultra cone beam images when diagnosing patients and evaluating treatment is our ability to clearly view the patient’s anatomy in three dimensions, instead of flat, two-dimensional images. This produces greater accuracy for all dental treatment, especially with dental implant placement and oral surgeries.
Oral Cancer – Catching It Early Can be a Lifesaver
Dr. Agrawal has found a revolutionary early detection system for oral cancer. He is able to shine a light in your mouth called the ViziLite™ to determine if there is cause for concern. With roughly 29,000 cases of oral cancer diagnosed in the last year, a quick and painless oral cancer screening is a great idea. When oral cancer is discovered early, treatment is faster, simpler, less invasive, and has a 90% success rate. Not only is ViziLite painless – it could save your life.
Headache and Migraine Suffers – We Have the Relief You’ve Been Searching For
NTI™ is a small device that’s an FDA-approved, drug-free treatment for migraine and tension headaches, and it’s available in our practice. It operates by relaxing the muscles under the scalp and prevents the majority of headaches. In clinical studies, 82% of migraine sufferers had relief of headaches, with a 77% drop in migraine events. The device is painless, fast, and inexpensive. If you or a loved one battles migraines, then be sure to ask us about this unique treatment.
